Another *boring* day of vacation
This morning I had my coffee, as usual, with French Vanilla, as usual. First time on this trip, though, since my mom only bought it yesterday.
(Sigh of relief.)
After the kids were bathed and dressed and I was also showered and dressed, we took the kids to Focus on the Family – they have this fabulous children’s play area based on Adventures in Odyssey and Whitt’s End or whatever (I’m 28 now, remember? Don’t expect me to remember all the stuff we used to listen to on the radio during family road trips way back when).
The kids had a BLAST and it was FREE. Although unfortunately, they were too short for the big green twirly slide. So we’ll have to do that another year.
And there was even a place for Adelaide’s level of skill and intellect. With a door that latched.
A mother’s dream.
Later my mom and I ran some errands while the kids were down for a nap and I found myself a new best friend, a little pink ipod nano. (Shh! Don’t tell Andy!)
I feel like I’ve finally joined the 21st century.
My sister and I just went through her library list and I snatched all the music I wanted. See? Already saving myself time and money.
My mom even put my older kids to bed and I didn’t even ask her to.
Vacation, indeed.

Focus on the Family is a fun place, isn’t it? We don’t go there often enough.
Glad you’re having a fun time!
I may have to stop reading your blog while you are on vacation. It’s bringing out all sorts of ungodly attitudes in me. :) Just kidding…sounds like a lot of fun and relaxation- glad you are having a good time!
That Focus on the Family place sounds really neat! We always used to listen to Adventures in Odyssey.
B – a much needed break after a long and tough year :)
use limewire.com for free music! i’ve gotten TONS from it!
Ok, you’re going to LLLOOOVVVEEE your nano and I can’t believe I haven’t gone to limewire yet. Duh! Your vacation sounds wonderful and are you in CO or AZ? I’m trying to keep up and I didn’t even know there was an Adventures in Odyssey “place” my kids would be so excited to go.
We’re currently in Colorado; drove here with my mom/sisters/grandparents from Arizona after the wedding.
It is so good to read through your blog and hear about all your fun adventures with your family. You do deserve it after a VERY stressful year. Live up every moment! :)
