I comforted myself with a tall cup of hot chocolate

By Moriah on November 5th, 2008

Dear Andy, payback is forthcoming. :)

Yesterday was non-stop for us. I managed to drop Drew off at preschool myself with the girls in tow, all of us ready for the day.

A miracle, I’m well aware.

I picked up some Starbucks for a friend (and me) and headed over to her house for a little play/coffee date. We had decided that’d be a better option than taking four young children to sit at Starbucks.

It was.

When I got home, Nicky came over and we left the kids with Andy so we could run over and vote. Apparently we picked the best time o’ day because there was no line. We walked straight up to the sign-in table, not even one person ahead of us.

And then of course Nicky stopped in to have tea (any excuse, remember?) and then I ran some errands when everybody was napping during the afternoon. I am always amazed at how quickly I can get things done without dragging the kids around with me.

I picked up the Tuesday Night Special from my pizzeria of choice (that would be good ol’ Papa John; he can bake a mean pie) for us and my sisters, who graciously agreed to watch my kids while Andy was at choir practice and I went to my scrapbooking club.

I’m in a scrapbooking club?

It would appear so. I just pretend though, really, to know what I’m doing. And last night as I was smoothing a rub-on onto a clear glass Christmas ornament, imagine my surprise when the whole thing burst into my hand, shattering glass everywhere.

I even have a Band-aid to show for it.

Papa Johns….my favorite. It’s been way too long since I’ve had one of these awesome pizzas.

And I think I need to get myself some of these Younger Sisters that you speak of, who love to pop over and babysit. Awesome.

no scrapbooking club for me. Way too much work. I love doing it, but I’d never keep up with my kids. I like the SIMPLE baby books for right now.

    heal quickly!
