Yeah. I can’t believe I did it either.

By Moriah on November 6th, 2008

So Monday I decided to give Madeline a little hair cut…snip off the scraggly ends, trim up her layers, etc. It turned out perfectly.

But it got me thinking, I can totally fix my own hair!!!

You know where this is going, right?

An hour and a bathroom sink-full of hair later, I realized the error or my ways. I thought ‘well…no problem, I’ll just have my friend Jenny fix it before I go visit Dolly this weekend.’

So I wore it in a ponytail for two days and then finally yesterday, I washed and dried it, and then straightened it with my flat iron.

I was shocked to find it really didn’t look half bad!

Here, let me show you:

And from the front (how embarrassing):

(What do you ladies think?? Should I have her fix it?)

Well, I must say…I’m impressed! It would be a disaster, to say the least, if I ever decided to take a pair of scissors to this head of hair. Mike gave me a haircut when I was little, and maybe I’ve just been scarred ever since…Me? I leave it to the professionals :)
Well, done, Moriah…you’re a talented girl

I love it! Cute and stylish! I would just leave it. It is so flattering on you!

You crack me up. First you tell me you color your own hair, and now you’re telling me you CUT it. You are a brave, brave girl.

I think it looks great. I’d leave it and save yourself the $$. I’m sure you can find something else to spend it on, right?

I think it looks great. It is trendy. The real test will be what Jenny ,the hair stylist, has to say. She might be asking you for advice.

    Wow! That looks great momma!

Now that is really something to be proud of!

Hope hubby loves it to , looks different & more feminine that the staight hair(not that it looked bad) just more volume looks pretty!

    What did the kids say?

I think it looks good. Really. I am proud of your bravery.

If you don’t mind having to use the flat iron, you should keep your “own” style.

Don’t think there’s anything to fix! It looks WAY cute! Weird for me to see you with your hair shorter like that, but I love it! Good job!!!

Boy, I don’t know. It’s a little more “layerish” that I prefer, but honestly, I’ve seen people pay a lot of money for hair that looks a WHOLE lot worse. You did pretty well, IMO. Why not leave it? Maybe you’ll start a trend? Or maybe you’ll develop a skill and not have to pay for cuts anymore!

Oh yeah – and BTW, it’s kind of hard for you to go wrong, with hair like you have :)

It all depends on what you want your hair to look like right. You look good…never would guess you cut it yourself! It you want the layers a little closer together maybe have Jenny help. But, if you intended the layers as is…great job! I must say you have no shame! ;)

I used to cut my own hair in college. It was okay. But much better when Jenny took over (one of the perks of rooming with you–using your friends).
For a self-cut hair job it isn’t so bad! You might want Jenny to even it out a bit, though.

    First…embarrassing? I don’t know why, you’re adorable.

Looks good to me! I would not have the first clue about cutting my own hair. Nice job!

I think you did a good job! But I would have Jenny even it out a bit.

It looks totally cute! If I tried that I’d end up bald! Way to go!
