Playtime, Holiday-style
So Andy’s parents have been here visiting for the last few days. They came down on Saturday, went to church and lunch with us on Sunday, and watched the kids later that afternoon so we could meet with the session and officially join our new church.
My mom-in-law helped the kids put their gingerbread houses together on Monday:
Everything a gingerbread house kit should be: messy, with icing as thick as cement. And candy, lots of candy.
(And yes, it’s been disappearing mysteriously ever since.)
Yesterday, Andy’s mom and I took Madeline to the tea room for a little Christmas tea party:
(Pardon Madeline’s mouth full o’ food. Ahem.)
I was also able to get all my Christmas shopping done while they were here. Yay for grandparents who love to play with their grandkids!

So much fun. I just went to Haggen(its a grocery store in the NW) for their “graham cracker” house making event. Saved me the mess at home.
We just did some gingerbread houses the other day too. Actually the girls did graham cracker houses and I intended to do the gingerbread house from a kit. After looking at their faces watching me do the house I just handed it over to them.
FUN! I think the girls and I are going to do our gingerbread house on Friday when they’re out of school (big brother has school, but now that he’s in middle school, he’s so over gingerbread houses).
Okay…so both of your moms look so young!!!!
I wondered if people actually ate those gingerbread house things, but I guess kids’ll eat anything!
Yay for Grandparents!!!
Can you believe I have never done one of these before? Ever.
Madeline is still cute even with her mouth full. LOL
