At least she’s cute
Adelaide has launched herself into a new phase, almost overnight! She’s figuring things out, overly curious, one part naughty. It’s the phase that about killed me with Madeline. Remember this? And this? And this?
Last night I found her – Adelaide – washing her hair with my new bottle of body wash that had been sitting on the kitchen counter after I unloaded the groceries yesterday.
There was an eight-inch puddle of the wash smeared on the coffee table, as well as a generous coating on her hands, face, and hair. I whisked her off to the bathtub, stripped her down, and wouldn’t you know – she was poopy.
And THEN she started rubbing her eyes. Soap. Eyes. Bloody murder. And still poopy. I’ll just let you imagine the outcome of that ordeal.
Fast forward to this morning, she suddenly taught herself to climb out of her crib.
Oh, the joys of motherhood.
Both she and Madeline walked in my room, bright-eyed and bushy-tailed over an hour early, anxious for us to greet the day with them. (Yeah, not gonna happen.)
I think I’m going to start investing in more locks.
And perhaps a toddler-sized straightjacket.

Your posts always make me thankful that I’m long past the curious toddler/poopy toddler stage.
But you have my sympathy.
Someone needs to give you a Klondike bar.
Wow, you always have the best glad-it-wasn’t-me stories LOL. I think because you might handle them better than I would and the sweet Lord knows that. I might go ballistic or something equally scary if things like that happened to me on a daily basis. LOL
And you’re right, at least she’s cute. All three of them are.
Wow, I had no idea how good I had it with the Princess. She NEVER got into anything she wasn’t supposed to and NEVER even thought about climbing out of her crib. And she was in it until she was 3!!!
I would be laughing but then I would jinx myself with this same adventurous activity. Good luck!!
Oh my. You have an active one there alright. Just remember:
One phase leads to another. Mine gets her driver’s license this week. I’m a wreck!!
Right there with ya! These are the moments that make me mutter under my breath – “Lord, have mercy!!”
She seems much more curious than Bubbalu is right now. He just doesn’t get into things for me. And why not?
I haven’t the foggiest.
Hey Moriah! Thanks for stopping by the other day. I think i need to drink a few extra cups of coffee for you – sounds like toddlers are ruling the house-hold! I’ve got one that is nearing that stage. hmmm.. i shouldn’t be drinking much coffee these days… baby #2 probably doesn’t need as much caffeine as I do !
Oh, that phase is the worst. My youngest is only 13 months and he’s already starting. Oy. At least they’re cute, right?
