Purpose

By Moriah on January 20th, 2009

I am a young mother. This is my blog. And part of the reason I share my life here is so that if you are another struggling young mother, you will know you’re not alone.

My child pooped on the living room floor last night. You are not alone.

I needed more patience yesterday. You are not alone.

I often feel adult-lonely when my husband leaves for work. You are not alone.

I don’t feel like making dinner sometimes. You are not alone.

We are in a season where it’s difficult to make ends meet. You are not alone.

Sometimes I cannot WAIT to get my kids in bed. You are not alone.

I struggle with my weight sometimes. You are not alone.

I sometimes wish I had a more glamorous life. You are not alone.

But. More importantly, if you know Jesus, you are not alone because He has promised never to leave [us] or forsake [His children]. Rest in that today.

    Dearest Moriah,
Yes, wonderful reminder to all of us in different seasons of life. I ran across one of your Uncle Rob’s tapes yesterday titled, Being content in all circumstances. I must admit, I have rarely been content…I think he has also said that not being content was part of the women’s curse at the Fall. We must live our lives to the fullest for His glory each day.And keeping our eyes on Him. Our trials are custom made and as your Aunt Bronwyn said, “prys our hands off of this world.” You bring great joy to those of us who read your blog daily. I encourage you to find your joy in living for Your Lord as you and Andy raise our precious grandchildren and next in being Andy’s helpmate and bringing him joy. You are my joy. Mom

I’ve lurked on here for a long time, and this was so beautiful it brought me out of hiding. Thank you for sharing. I just had a day like that…missing car keys, crazy kids, out of millk and no way to get to the store, lol. So it was really encouraging!

Great post! I can totally relate because my toddler pooped on a pink shag rug the other night. My older daughter also has the same Target Christmas shirt that your Miss M has, so we have great taste. I look forward to checking our your blog!

I just found your blog and wanted to say thank you for this post. I so needed to hear (read, lol!) it. I have a 2.5 year old and a 3 month old. It’s a daily struggle. And sometimes I definitely feel so, so alone.
