New and Improved, with Paint

By Moriah on February 17th, 2009

The week before my mom came, I called and asked if she’d be up for a little painting project while she was here. Her first response was “sure, the bathroom?” Um, no. (Although yes, it’s also in dire need of a fresh coat.)

I had something a little more fun in mind:

In the end, I did all of the painting myself. But she was great moral support.

AFTER:

Then I found these cute little pink knobs at Target:

I’d been wanting to paint the girls’ dresser white because sometime soon I’d like to move them to bunk beds (the kind with a full-sized bed on bottom).

Madeline’s toddler bed is nearly too short for her and the end of the mattress is constantly falling between the slats. (Obviously SO comfortable.) And not to mention that I can’t read to or snuggle with her on it since it’s about the size of Little Bear’s bed.

Anyway, those new (dream) beds would also be white. And I might as well get everything else prepared in the event that money begins to grow on trees.

Great job – it looks so well in white, and the knobs are perfect.

That’s adorable! I’m sure your mother was also good for crowd control while you were being so productive. :)

The paint is really fun! But being the only pink in my blue world, I’m dying over the pink knobs! If this peanut isn’t a girl, I’ll have to do a lot of convincing Jad for pink knobs in the master bedroom. Although, a pink laundry room would be cheery!

Haven’t you heard – the government is going to start handing out money, aparently they’ve found a whole grove of money trees. :-)

    That totally makes the room!

So…my girls got bunk beds back in October and they are wonderful! It doubled their floor space and makes for some fun fort/hideouts!

    Great job, Moriah.

LOVE it!! Andrew’s room has an ugly old brown dresser… I wonder if I could dress it up with some paint? Do you think white is too girly for a boy? What other color could I paint it?

It looks fantastic! I love that green color. It’s all so perfectly girly.

And may I say that I could kick myself for not meeting you at BlissDom! The weekend went so fast that we were all on our way back home for I knew it.

Have you been in my head lately???

I’ve been thinking…dreaming…pining after those cute pink knobs from Target.

Lil Chick has a long white sideboard that I painted white and use as her changing table. I stuck on some plain knobs, but saw the uber cute pink ones at Target recently…I offically have knob envy!

I sit and nurse Lil Chick in her nursery and ponder knobs and other such nonsense :)

If you find the money tree, let me know. My 6-year-old wants to completely redecorate her room!

I love white painted furniture!! What stood out to me was your desire for bunk beds…twin over full bunkbeds. Read my post I just added to the painted wood link party and it details my recent journey in my two girls sharing a room!!! I have done it all…twin and crib, two twins, bunk, bed and trundle, and ultimately, 1 full size bed they share. This is THE BEST decision we have ever made. Good luck!!!

It was begging to be white….and begging for those knobs!

    Thanks so much for linking!!!

    blessings and much love,
