Tuesday, you were good to us
We had a great day yesterday and mostly because Andy was off work (which hasn’t happened in a while). He took the girls to the museum in the morning so I could get some projects wrapped up.
The kids had recently played in our closet and pulled ALL of the shoes off the racks. (And if you know us, you know that is a LOT of shoes. You couldn’t even walk in there.) So it was high time to sort and re-shelve.
I also vacuumed up all the Easter grass, which had been strewn house-wide. I know some moms don’t buy it (a friend even just told me about an edible kind…not sure how I feel about that!) but it’s so nostalgic for me; our Easter baskets were always filled with that stuff.
So I buy it, and try to get it picked up before it begins to drive me crazy. I was able to salvage the pink and purple so I can reuse those next year but Drew’s blue? Not so much. (Unless dusty from the vacuum cleaner is an acceptable option.)
Here’s what the girls did when they got home:

(Alternate title: “Daddy wore me out at the museum”)
And then for dinner we had our trusty $5 Papa John’s, all of us riding in the car together to pick it up. Love impromptu family time. (Ooh, speaking of which, maybe I can sneak that last piece before anyone notices.)
We played outside until dark and hung out a little with the neighbors. Drew’s little plastic rockets (as seen in our current Easter picture below) had to be rescued a time or two from their yard (and also from their roof). We’ve been blessed with sweet neighbors on both sides.
Andy and I even got to bed at a reasonable hour, which is more than I can say for the past six months!
There’s a first time for everything.

I love impromtu family time. It makes the best memories and I love the kids excitement as they talk about for weeks afterwards. Glad Andy got a day off!
OH! The “played outside until dark” part made me so happy….it reminds me that summer is on the way!
Sounds like a good day in my book!
