Madeline’s Purse
I took the kids to the park one evening this week and Madeline left her purse with me on the bench, (most likely as safekeeping from Adelaide). I got a little bored and peeked in it, curious about what she deems worthy of toting around.
(And then I secretly thanked her for this blog post.)
When she went to bed that night, I dumped the contents out and snapped a few pictures. When she’s in high school we’ll have a little laugh at the contents of her purse when she was almost four:

Jam-packed with junk treasures:

First we have the empty cardboards from the hair clippies folded in half, a remote to a broken car, a piece of folded construction paper, and a doll bib:

Some magnets and bracelets, band-aids (smart!), her phone and shades, the Southwest Airlines wings my mom gave her, and a couple of pilfered cars:

Fake flowers (they came from my Mother’s Day paper basket Drew made in school), some used princess stickers, and a ratty old tissue:
And finally, a pair of doll underwear and a sundress (you never know when you’re gonna need a spare):

Don’t you wish you could see what goes on in their heads sometimes?

that’s the cutest thing i’ve ever seen! she’s so prepared!
Hey – looks like mine!
Sadly, mine is about ten times messier… fifty billion receipts and other miscellaneous papers mixed in with all the other junk.
At least she didn’t have YOUR cell phone or your van keys. ;)
Very cute. Amazing that she got all that stuff crammed in that tiny purse. On second thought, my purse is just like that. So kudos to you for teaching her while she’s young.
;)
I love this post!!! Thanks for a smile this morning!Or should I say thank you to Madeline?!
Hillarious! Looks like Mollee’s – I looked in hers last Sunday before church and she had 15 lip glosses and 2 chap sticks – just in case!!
“her phone and shades”.. we taught her well (;
I think she is walking around with the contents of my purse! ha ha ha
I think it’s entirely possible your four year old has more useful items in her purse than I do in mine!
Too adorable :) I can’t wait to nose around in Emmy’s purse.
Yes – I SO wish I knew what on in their little heads – super fascinating, I’m sure. I cracked up at the cardboard holder for all the clippies – that happens a lot around here too! All the clippies and barrettes come off, and then she carts it all around in one of her many purses.
