Miss Four

By Moriah on June 8th, 2009

Since we had Madeline’s party on Saturday, we let her open the rest of her gifts this morning in her pajamas, without fanfare.  Here are a few of my favorites:

I love Adelaide’s face:

The dress she has spent months asking for:

(And yes, I realize nearly all of her gifts were Disney Princess. It’s what she asked for.)

We spent the rest of the day hanging out at home and taking naps. This evening I took them to the free play area in the mall (had to get some camis at Motherhood; two birds, one stone), Chick-Fil-A for supper (in honor of Madeline’s birthday of course), and to Target for bigger socks. It was high time; I think Drew’s would’ve actually fit on Adelaide.

Socks are one of those things I never actually think about, yanking and tugging and pulling onto kids’ feet, never realizing that maybe it’s because they simply don’t fit anymore. Shoes are so much more obvious when they’re outgrown.

But with socks, you can fake it.

I agree about socks, you don’t notice. Kirk’s were practically anklets by the time I went up a size…then there was the time I caught my husband wearing a pair of MY black socks with his dress shoes, I guess I was behind on laundry….

The socks comment made me laugh. John and I were sitting at the table last night and I was making a list of things the kids need for summer since I’m heading to “town” today. He chimed in with “socks, Mer, they could all use some new socks”. It made me laugh so hard that he contributed that little bit of advice.

Madeline’s face is so happy in these pics! Your kids are really beautiful ya know?

Here you on the princess stuff! It was all Anna-Kate asked for/got (except for Fancy Nancy). All girl I tell ya…I love how genuinely happy kids are to receive gifts. Their eyes and faces are such sweet and happy representations of their feelings. :)

Enjoy this princess stage – it does not last forever!

I know what you mean about socks? I finally threw out some odd socks I kept hoping the match of them would eventually turn up – I realized they were for a one year old and my youngest is now 4!

I love *LOVE* the fact that Disney came out with the ‘Princess’ series. It helps little girls to be so fancy!

She looks delighted with all her princess loot.

Thanks for visiting my blog the other day! I really like your background–very stylish yet soothing in a way. :)

Happy 4th birthday, Madeline! Did you know Julia asked for the same exact Cinderella dress for her upcoming 3rd birthday???
