The Icing on My Pink Cake
We found out yesterday morning that we are having another girl. I don’t think either of us were surprised, since I’m carrying exactly like I did with both Madeline and Adelaide and with Drew I was the size of a house. (Just ask my friends, they’ll be happy to confirm.)
I’m excited… I can do this girl thing. I love hairbows and pretty dresses and crammed-full-of-junk purses. Andy’s excited, too; he’s just a little nervous about the wedding bills. He also mentioned being glad he at least has Drew and a male dog. Drew has enough boy in him to last through about ten sisters.
The funny thing is… my granddad had four girls and a boy. My dad had three girls and a boy (and his dog was even a female). So… like Granddad, like Dad, and now like Andy. Apparently we like to do things in patterns.
I’ll show you this cute profile shot, because I feel a little weird about showing *girl* shots on my blog. (Call me old fashioned.)

Arianna Noelle
I realize not everyone reveals their baby’s name before birth. We have with our other three and mostly because we’re not very good at keeping our secrets when we just don’t mind people knowing. She IS a little tiny person, and we pray for her by name.
(Arianna – Latin, “very holy or very pleasing one.”)

Congratulations!! This might sound incredibly weird, but I kinda thinks she looks like your other kids- there’s a resemblance already!
She’s already cute, and I think she has Madeline’s nose :o)
Maybe someday we can talk dowry :).
Arianna is beautiful and I love her name.
I fully assumed our family would follow the family pattern(for me everyone else(mom, sisters) has them in sets of two). Alas, Andrew is all boy instead of the little sister I had already named. Oy. Wouldn’t trade him for the world
I hope you kept some cute outfits that your other girls wore. That was one thing I was actually sad about when I found out I was having a boy – I had to give up those fantasies of seeing Princess’s little sister wearing all those cute dresses that she once wore.
And you have a name already? Not fair. I’m a month away from my due date and we still don’t have a name for this little guy. Of course we didn’t settle on Princess’s name either until we met her in person so I guess we’re all just people of habit and tradition. Congratulations!!
your girls all have such lovely melodious names
Congrats! When we found out we were a little shocked that it wasn’t a girl, but it definitely was a boy. But I’m so excited either way.
I love the name. We can’t agree on any girl names…so your lucky it’s come so easily! Thankfully we have the next 5 boy names. :)
your “patterns” intrigue me!!
i love your new daughter’s name… it is so beautiful and it’s meaning makes it even more so!!
(Not just weddings: prom dresses, ALL the shoes, bridesmaid dresses — yep, girls are pricey!!) But what fun tea parties you will have! And they’ll all borrow each others’ clothes, and flirt with each others’ boyfriends, and tell secrets, and have sleepovers. The fun is JUST beginning!!
Welcome Arianna! I can’t wait to watch you grow up…that is, after you make your entrance :)
Be nice to your Mommy, k?
Such a pretty name. I’m practicing the correct pronunciation!! Tea parties also run in the family!!
Congratulations! She is as beautiful as her name!
I know I already emailed you, but I had to leave a comment and tell you again how thrilled I am for you. Congrats! She’s gorgeous, and I love her name.
Congrats! Why is it the men always think about the wedding cost???
Congratulations, how precious is that little photo. That is a very beautiful name!
Wouldn’t trade the three-girls-in-a-row-thingy for anything!!!!! (though it does make for a bit of jr high drama :) Just wait…all this time invested pays off BIG TIME! They will soon be able to run the house and THAT is awesome!!!
Love, love, love the name. I have always secretly relished esp. “Noelle”.
you are blessed !
