I’m here, I’m here
By Moriah on August 4th, 2009
I’m sitting in the lobby waiting for an appointment with my midwife. Yes, I brought my laptop. (It’s quiet in here, what can I say?)
I realize I haven’t blogged in several days, which isn’t like me, but my heart just hasn’t been in it. I’ve felt like I was talking to the wall and got bored listening to myself. So I apologize if you’ve come here looking for a new post only to be disappointed. (All three of you.)
Sickness update: Somehow Madeline and I have managed to avoid the random fever that was going through our house. Andy came down with one on Saturday and had a very bad headache and body aches/pain along with it. Drew also got a fever, with no other symptoms. They’re both completely fine now. Like I said, random.
Back to me being at the midwife… this is week 26, things are starting to get, well, uncomfortable. The kids are noticing my belly a lot more and asking all manner of interesting questions. The other day in the car Madeline asked “when I get big, I can get married and have a baby in my tummy? And I CAN DRIVE??!!!”
Clearly she was more interested in being allowed to drive. Priorities.
(Drew’s also asked me recently if he can have a baby in his tummy.)
(Sorry buddy. Never.)
Welp, I’m out of time. Thanks for checking in with this little corner of the blogosphere! I’ll try to be better at being around this week.

I love the things kids say about pregnancy (so far! though this gets scarier with an 8 year old). Luke (the four year old) is fairly certain that when the time comes, I am going to “spit the baby out”, like a watermelon seed or something. He keeps asking me when I”m gonna spit my baby out, which just makes me snort.
Just back from a LONG camping trip…I’ve gotta get back in my bloggin’ mojo as well…not feeling it recently.
Hope your appt goes well, and can I just say? SO funny that you took your laptop :)
I was wondering why you were silent hoping that everything is well. I check your blog every day :) My 4 yo is convinced that he will have a baby in his tummy when he grows up and nothing we say can convince him othervise :)
I’ve wondered where you’ve been! :) My kids were always determined to find out how the baby gets out of your belly.
Fuller was just happy to know it would come out of my tummy, he never questioned exactly how that happened.
This morning he was asking what it meant to be a twin and was trying to tell me he and Tebow are twins, because they punched each other when they were in my tummy. Um, they are 4 years apart. Definitely not twins.
Thanks for blogging. You and a couple of others have inspired me to start a new blog and just see where it goes. I’ll still have osterfive.blogspot.com for our fam and whoever wants to see tons of pics of the kids, but suchakingdom.blogspot.com will be for any mom anywhere who needs a little pick-me-up. I know I’ve gotten that from blogs like yours!
I had been wondering how you had been. I enjoy reading your posts everyday, even though I have been really bad about commenting. I am glad that everything is going well. Congrats on 26 weeks! Your little one will be here before you know it!
Now, listen here young lady!! (That was to get your attention, and to make you think you have an extra mom out here…) Anyone who has 3 little ones and is pregnant and is as busy as you are, is perfectly right in taking a little time off the blogging now and then. You know, it’s not a DUTY :) And I do think there are quite a few more than 3 of us. I bet, for every one person who leaves a comment once every 2 weeks, you’ve got a handful who would never dream of commenting at all, because they’re not as, you know, BLABBY as some of us. And of course there are those who have never met you in person, who are too reticent to speak. Like I ought to be, but I’m not….!
Glad to hear your voice. You’re a delightful ray of sunshine after checking the news – even if it’s just an honest response to one of those days!
The Story of Me (which I have and will loan)is a great book which gives enough detail without more than they might be ready for. Stay well!
Your kids are hilarious. I guess it’s a little different this time around, with them being a little older! And when Drew is old enough to realize what it’s all about, bet he’ll be SO relieved that he won’t have to have a baby in his tummy.
