Firsts
Today we took our first trip out as a family of six.
SIX!
I’m not supposed to drive for another week (I’m sure you can guess how I feel about THAT) so Andy drove me around on a couple of errands and entertained the three big kids while I ran in stores. Baby slept the entire time.
Probably because right before we left I gave her her first at-home bath. (Yes, I know we’ve been home 4 days. I keep meaning to bathe her and then it gets to be evening and I’m exhausted and promise myself I’ll do it the next day. Newborns don’t need frequent baths anyway.)

And then just now I finally got around to cutting her itty bitty nails for the first time. She kept scratching her face so I figured it was time. Thankfully at that age the nail will just sort of peel off once you start a teeny clip from the side.
Oh! Today was also our FIRST day without my mom. She stayed with my brother/SIL last night and went to the airport early this morning. We only have to live without her for ten days and then she and my dad will be back for Thanksgiving.
And thankyouverymuch so far we’ve survived this day.

I always felt like newborns didn’t need baths everyday. It dries out their skin right? I would just take a washcloth to the neck folds and bathe them every other day or so.
Loving all the pics! Keep em coming!
oh, she is GORGEOUS!!!! congrats!!
Oh Moriah, I had the same sentiments moving from 3 to 4 kids. Suddenly we were a herd moving around town. Funny, Huh!
So, so, so cute! Oh my gosh!
We definitely did not bathe newborns frequently. The dirtiest part of them gets cleaned 8-10 times a day anyway. :) I bite newborn baby nails while nursing b/c I am lazy.
Isn’t that funny how you can’t wait to bathe your first one and then with subsequent children it just isn’t quite so exciting?
Hope you have a great day today! I prayed for you yesterday without your mom, glad Andy could take you around to do errands. Let me know if you need anything!!
Oh my – she looks a bit like she’s already getting bigger – what lovely cheeks! Good mama’s milk!
