New-Years-Carnival

(Really this is supposed to be the first line of the first post of every month. I’m being lazy and just giving the titles.)

January
Happy 2009! (Don’t waste your time on that one.)

February
Busy Week Ahead (And also? She did start blogging.)

March
It’s Monday – time for a meme (i.e. old school blogging).

April
Madeline, The Storyteller. The end of this (“Adelaide can be… the crab”) still makes me howl.

May
Six Children Five and Under is too much for two mommies in Costco. And now we’d have seven, six and under. Still too many.

June
A Very Full Sunday. Oh my word, Adelaide, so cute.

July
Ready for the 4th, Part II. More Adelaide cuteness, patriotic style.

August
I’m here, I’m here.

September
Hair Flowers.

October
One of the easiest desserts ever. Now I’m hungry.

November
Day 3 (of Arianna’s life).

December
Where We Are (DPP Day 1). The bathroom project that is still unfinished (don’t laugh).

Laying Low

By Moriah on December 30th, 2009

Still recovering from Christmas… I stayed up way too late that whole week before and then went on a trip. I’m t-i-r-e-d. And have way too much laundry.

I did have to leave my house yesterday for my post-partum appointment (yeah, it was a little later than the prescribed 6 weeks, but who’s counting?) that was entirely frustrating.

I’m taking Arianna to her 6 week check up today (even though she’ll be 9 weeks tomorrow — again, WHO’S COUNTING?!) and hopefully it will be uneventful and we won’t have to sit and wait for two hours.

I’m still figuring out the new camera, settings and editing. Taking a million photos of baby since she’s THE ONLY ONE THAT SITS STILL:

(And also? Pinching those cheeks. They’re irresistible.)

Oops. Sort of.

So I um, sort of (Mom, don’t freak) choppedMadeline’shairoff.

{exhales}

She wanted a haircut.  I wanted to cut it too, just because it was too long and the tangles painful.  The problem was she kept moving and I had to keep cutting it shorter to even out the sides.  It’s still not perfect.

She likes it… and even though I would have left it a few inches longer, her hair grows like a weed and will be back down her back in a wink.

(And yes, she’s wearing a size 3T dress I got down from the attic for Adelaide to wear. Silly girl.)

Here’s a before photo, just for kicks (also one of my favorite photos from Christmas):
