After we moved in our house (8 yrs ago) we found several spliced electrical wires joined only by electrical tape! Can we say, “FIRE HAZARD,” not to mention, “HOW IN THE HECK DID THE INSPECTOR MISS THIS?!” At least a hole in the wall, as annoying as it is, isn’t likely to burn the place down.

Yeah, those holes are great ways for everything from Arctic blasts to snakes and mice, to enter your house. I’m glad you discovered them!

No kidding, my grandma had that EXACT same pattern in her bathroom.

I’ve unconvered weird wall patches, too, when remodeling our first house which was 120 years old. People do stupid things!

the people who owned our house tried to fix a hole in the foundation that LEAKED with saran wrap and tape.

nothing surprises me anymore!
