Second thought – check out playmobile on ebay. Keep the little pieces up for a year or two. We did do that initially.

You’ve seen my house. If it’s not lego, it’s playmobile. Honestly for the play value they provide to all 4 kids(we initiated Andrew last Christmas) the on the floor part hasn’t been every day excrutiating on my organization nerves. But I confess the legos are color coordinated in a closet. (Sick, very sick)

I asked my 15 yo son. We agree that you’re going to have to give in and get him some legos. Seriously, they are great for the boy brain that likes to be creative, to construct, destruct and reconstruct. Get a plastic tub to keep them in. What movies does Drew love? Get him picture books and action figures from this movie. He already loves cars; get him more vehicles, bigger ones, ones that come apart, a helicopter or a fire truck with removable parts. Boys love toy (plastic) weapons like daggers, swords, guns, pistols, holsters, etc. IF you don’t mind having these things. I’ve bought my boys a whip, a coon-skin cap, 2 HUGE tubs of legos that we still have for visitors. The multi-tool thingies for boys are fun, that have pliers, etc. in them. It is so worth it to encourage his identity as a BOY, esp. in a house full of girls.

we waited on the playmobile and legos til we were out of the baby stage at our house
I think they were more appreciated when we actually got them too
and he’s old enough to put them away himself now
I think we should have a playdate with big boys toys and see what he likes
there are so many fun toys out there…

PLAYMOBILE!!!! There are many small pieces but great toys for the imagination. My boys play with these more than any other toy.

I never answered you – G.I. Joe is a perfect choice. I just picked up a box full this morning. :) Nerf guns are great and I still say Legos (you’ll have to give in one day)

I like the description “quirky” – can’t wait for that simmering post.

Yard work? Wow. Glad I have a little longer before I have to start thinking of that.

Big Boy toys? Will loved Legos, Bionicles, Rescue Heroes (don’t even know if they still make those!) K’nex, and Nerf stuff. He probably read as much as he played though…

Adorable, and I’m jealous of the lining. :) I was at the fabric store this morning and almost bought some retro fabric very similar…it’s really cute. While I was there I spotted this pink, brown, and green cupcake ribbon, and I thought it would be really fun to make her a special birthday dress to wear on her own birthday and to other parties. Today I need to clean the house and work on food stuff. :)
