[sniffle]

By Moriah on March 30th, 2010

My mom left yesterday.

Sad to see her go, as always. We had a great time together and the kids looooooove when she’s here to play. It’s always nice to have an extra set of mom hands, too.

Now I have to step back into some very large laundry shoes.

Yesterday was so pretty but with a little touch of cold. My mom took the kids to the park before she left and I pretty much did nothing. Well, I took a nap. (It was completely necessary. I made the mistake of drinking coffee late Sunday afternoon and then tea with friends in the evening. Wide awake ’till 3 a.m. Not fun.)

And then we went to pick up the dry cleaning and got there 8 minutes too late. So we drove over to say hi to Andy at work and then grabbed supper on the way home. I spent the rest of the evening lazing on the couch with my kids and reading bedtime books half asleep.

I’m thinking this week might be a bit of an, um, adjustment period.

And it is Spring Break :) Sorry your mom left, but glad you had a good time with her.

I’m looking forward to a little Granna time myself. She is TAKING THE KIDS next week. I’ll be in my home alone for 3 whole days. I’m not sure if it’s safe to even think about! On one hand I’m counting the million and three things I need to get done, and on the other hand, I’m thinking about all the time I’m going to just sit and stare out the window! Hope your adjustment goes well!

Sniffle from me,too. It is always hard to leave you and my most precious grandchildren. I have an adjustment here, too! It takes awhile to settle into a routine. Hope it won’t be long before we can see each other. I pray for joy and strength for you all. Much love.

I should have called you on Sunday night…I did the same thing and read The Help until 4am! :) At least I had a good book to keep me company.

Laura S. calls this time period “degrandmafication.” Not fun, even if you have amazing grandparents like your children have…it’s always an adjustment.

And Olivia, I don’t know you but I am jealous for your days home alone! I think that’s the best possible gift for a mother…time alone in your own house! Have fun!
