Fun Mom Friday

By Moriah on July 9th, 2010

Welcome to the very! first!

We did a couple of fun things this week (like met friends for supper on Tuesday at Chick-Fil-A and also went to the park a few times) – but I didn’t take any photos and those are sort of regular weekly occurrences for us. My BIG FUN idea for this week got bumped from time constraints so I’ll have to save that for next week.

Which means, I’m left with showing you these crazy kids doing their stunts off the diving board, taken yesterday:

flip

Adelaide just runs off the end, as fast as she can:

air running

Madeline, spending time with her dear old dad:

daddy daughter

Adelaide’s swimming is another hilarity. She usually holds her hands up behind her, out of the water (face in), and just kicks her legs. I have no idea.

funny swim

And, your token baby shot:

waterbaby2

I’m sure I’ll be looking back at these come December, dreaming of summer.

So.  How were YOU the Fun Mom this week? Link up your Fun Mom Friday post’s permalink below. (For the full Fun Mom Friday info click here.)

Please, as a courtesy, and as you are able, remember to leave comments at all the FMF posts you visit!

We went to the park and I let the kids walk around the squelchy mud surrounding the pond looking for frogs. We saw a couple, but they didn’t want to hop in our net, imagine that!. We ended up finding a skin that that looked like it had been shed by a praying mantis (I didn’t know they shed skin) and we caught a couple of butterflies to observe.

Oh my word, those skins! Madeline brought me a dog-water-bowl full of cicada shells the other morning. I almost lost my breakfast.

I miss swimming pools, Moriah. They’re so few and far between here. It’s been too cold to swim though! And too rainy for my really great fun mom idea. I’m saving it until things stay dry!

We had the slip and slide set up for the kids this week, but they ended up playing in the mud next to it. Yuck! But they sure had fun.

We made a giant letter “G” giraffe for the One Million Giraffes online project. We also saw Toy Story 3 this week!

Hi Moriah! Your mom told me about your blog when she was visiting your Aunt Linnea in Maryland and I have had such a fun time reading about your family. Thanks for sharing!

OK, that pool looks DIVINE. It’s hot here today! Your token baby shot? Just scrumptious :) Love it. Sweet baby curls are the best!

Good linky, Moriah! I find it very funny that there are two STL trips and two sno cone posts among the first 8!

I took the kids to the college pool for the first time this summer yesterday and they loved it! It was so dang hot even Hugh loved floating around in the baby tube.
I also let the kids play in my room (usually off limits for toys) today while I tagged for the sale. Blocks all over my bed and my closet turned into the dress-up room but they loved it and I got to finish the task at hand :o)

I love this idea – moms sharing the fun they are having with their kids! It looks like your family had a great time in the pool!

We went swimming too… wish I could keep Evalyn in her float toy. She’ll have nothing to do with it. :)
