Happenins

By Moriah on August 31st, 2010

Arianna decided she can crawl. She didn’t even do that rocking thing babies often do – she just all of the sudden took off across my sisters’ living room Sunday, and that was that. (Same day she got another tooth — what does she think, she’s going off to college tomorrow?)

Madeline likewise took off riding her bike without the training wheels. And it was the same sort of way, as if she’d been doing it forever. (I guess we should have taken them off earlier.) Funny thing, Drew was the one that went to the shed and got Andy’s tools out and took her training wheels off all by himself.

Yeah. WHO NEEDS PARENTS?!

All that means is that you are doing a GOOD JOB :) Children that develop and love to do things on their own are healthy and gaining independence.

Don’t you just love it? That cracks me up that Drew took off the wheels. Some days I feel like I’m here merely for decoration…and to referee!

your kids are too much! i’m not ready for real independence, no matter how much i might joke otherwise! and meanwhile, mine are still safely/quietly napping in the beds they’ve never tried to escape from!

So funny…I glanced at the name of your post too quickly, and the whole time I was reading it I was thinking, “Wow! Good for her for thinking these kind of changes bring HAPPINESS!…I hate that my little guy is growing up!” Then, I got to your last sentence. And then I took a little bit longer glance at your title. And then I realized we’re actually in the same boat. :)
