pulling {and pushing back}
By Moriah on August 30th, 2012
Five little people, each tugging me in a different direction. Husband with his own needs (love, dinner, and clean underwear), and a house (or two) that is always pulling on me. Dishes and laundry get their own category; not to mention groceries, friends, church, God.
It’s really no wonder I feel soo stretched, always juggling and often dropping. I am only two hands, one person. Clearly I can’t do everything or even try. I’m trying to re-direct, focus on things that I’ve been wanting to do but never seem to have the time and energy for. The dishes and cooking and laundry will all get done because they have to.
So here’s me pushing back today. I have clean hair, painted toes. I’ve been wanting to share these beach photos from a month ago and so I am.
Today.

Beautiful! And I can understand feeling stretched. I hope you find peace.
You have some lovely girls! I too am feeling so stretched. We mothers can pray for one another.
DO take time out for you. It will preserve your sanity, not just for today, but for a decade from now. It’s really important. And the world won’t stop spinning if the laundry piles up or you have cold cereal for supper. Five children is a lot. Take time for you :)

Clean underwear? I mean really! Husbands can be so needy sometimes. ;)
I love their little brown bodies against the white sand. Just gorgeous.
Beautiful pics! Just curious…how in the world do you keep them from getting dirty on the beach. My kids would last about a minute and then be filthy. :)
We were all filthy, me probably most of all. :)
Those are BEAUTIFUL! I need to read your description at the beginning. Sometimes you feel like you are a lone with the “stretched” feeling. Glad to know there are other moms out there. (not to mention I only have 3 kids, not 5)
